Joyriders Drive Stolen Car Into Dublin Canal

"Joyriders in a stolen car caused chaos on a central Dublin street on the evening of January 23, eventually driving the car into a canal dock.The video shows the car pulling handbrake turns and doing donuts as traffic passes by. The car is then driven into Spencer Dock, where the city’s Royal Canal meets the River Liffey, but not before the driver opens the door and bails out with seconds to go. People can be heard cheering as the car hits the water.
Local resident Christopher Barry shot this video from his apartment. He told Storyful there was “a group of kids lined up on the street,” and that the car was drifting around the streets for about 10 minutes, almost hitting pedestrians and missing other cars “by inches.” He said the police arrived at the scene afterwards. “I noticed the same group of kids (from appearance) walk back to the bridge directly over the car to watch the investigation take place.
